নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারে ভূষিত প্রথম বাংলাদেশি অধ্যাপক ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসকে তৎকালীন প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার পক্ষ থেকে শুভেচ্ছা বার্তার কথা স্মরণ করলেন মেক্সিকোতে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত মুশফিকুল ফজল আনসারী।

বৃহস্পতিবার (১২ জুন) সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ফেসবুকের এক পোস্টে এ কথা স্মরণ করেন তিনি।

পোস্টে মুশফিকুল ফজল আনসারী লিখেন, ২০০৬ সালের ১৪ অক্টোবর — দিনটি এখনও মনে গেঁথে আছে। নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারে ভূষিত প্রথম বাংলাদেশি প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার পক্ষ থেকে শুভেচ্ছা বার্তা পৌঁছে দিতে আমার থাকার সুযোগ হয়েছিল প্রতিনিধিদলের একজন সদস্য হিসেবে।

তিনি লিখেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর তখনকার রাজনৈতিক সচিব হারিস চৌধুরী যখন অভিনন্দনপত্রটি হস্তান্তর করেন, তখন ড. ইউনূস বলেন, “এ শুধু আমার নয়, গোটা দেশের, সরকারের এবং প্রতিটি নাগরিকের অর্জন।” এমন এক ঐতিহাসিক মুহূর্তের অংশ হতে পেরে আমি গর্বিত, কৃতজ্ঞ।

তিনি আরও লিখেন,

On this day, I look back with deep pride and gratitude to have been part of a truly historic moment for Bangladesh.

On October 15, 2006, I had the privilege of accompanying the Prime Minister’s delegation when a letter of heartfelt felicitation was handed over to Professor Muhammad Yunus—the first-ever Bangladeshi to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, conveyed the nation’s congratulations through her Political Secretary Harris Chowdhury, who delivered the letter in person to Dr. Yunus at his residence. I was fortunate to witness this gracious exchange—a moment that transcended politics and reflected national pride.

Prof. Yunus’s words still resonate: “This is not only my achievement, but also of the country, the government and every citizen of Bangladesh.”
